Watermelon Liqueur

Summer time drinks can come in just about any flavor in Japan.  The feature drink on this post is called Watermelon Liqueur from Yamagata Prefecture in the Tohoku region of Honshu, the main island. 

On a hot summer day, with ice in a nice tall glass, this stuff is the best and I sampled it a few nights ago.  I loved it.  It had a very wonderful balance between the delicate watermelon texture and plum wine.  Nice.
